Whether you are looking for help with depression, anxiety, stress, the effects of trauma, compulsive behaviors, attention problems, or any number of other mental health issues, I am here to help. I am experienced in these and many other areas in both private practice as well as in the hospital setting and am regularly involved in training psychiatrists at NYU. Here are some key aspects of treatment that I find are important:
- Completion of a thorough evaluation visit to ensure your concerns are heard, that your struggles are understood and that a sufficient opportunity for follow-up questions is provided
- The consideration of psychotherapy to address symptoms since this is often a highly effective route is often free of side effects and has lasting benefits even after treatment concludes
- A discussion of lifestyle or dietary habits such that recommendations can be made in these areas, if desired, as often such changes can also be key in reducing symptoms.
- A dialogue about psychiatric medications, if this is a route you are interested in. We can discuss the pros and cons, and alternatives. My general approach to the use of medication is to do so in a careful, cautious, and gradual manner and to minimize the use of medications with an addictive risk.
