COVID-19 has taken a devastating toll on New York City. My practice remains fully operational and I have received frequent consults and have been glad to help those who are suffering either as a indirect or direct result of this situation.
Many insurance companies are more flexible under the current circumstances. I’ve updated my billing and out-of-network information pages related to the new codes used for virtual visits. I’ve also created an information page about Virtual Visits, which is accessible from the site menu.
In addition to continuing to treat patients in my private practice, I have continued to serve NYC in the Psychiatric Emergency Department at Bellevue Hospital Center (CPEP) as well as at the VA Medical Center, both on medical units and psychiatric units including patients suffering from COVID and concurrent psychiatric illness. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Command Center at Bellevue Hospital Center and the outstanding CPEP leadership for provisioning of supplies and personal protective equipment, and to nursing and physician administration at the VA Medical Center for excellent leadership, organization and provisioning of equipment as well. If you would like to make a donation to the hospital center or the medical center, please let me know and I will direct you to the appropriate party. We will get through this together.
